A day by the sea in San Nicola Arcella and Praia a Mare
A rock arch over the water, an island off the shore, a town overlooking the bay. In San Nicola Arcella and Praia a Mare, you can spend the whole day by the sea, finding a different view at every turn. Start with Arcomagno or a boat trip around Dino, then leave the rest of the afternoon for a walk and a rest.

You will need a car or pre-arranged transport for this trip. Arrange the time of your Arcomagno visit or longer boat trip around Dino first. It will then be easier to choose when to walk around town and book a table for dinner.
Arcomagno or a boat trip
Beneath Arcomagno’s arch. You will find entry details, tickets and visiting rules in the site manager’s notice. This is a shorter visit to the bay, rather than a beach for a whole day under a parasol. Come for the view of the sea framed by the enormous rock arch.
Before or after your visit, walk through old San Nicola Arcella. Look at the buildings around Chiesa Madre di San Nicola da Tolentino and along the streets of the centre, then take in the bay from Il Belvedere. You can also spot Torre Crawford in the landscape; this privately owned tower is viewed from outside.
Around Dino. If you prefer to see the coast from a boat, choose a trip around Dino instead of Arcomagno. The organiser will provide the meeting point, route, participation requirements and cancellation conditions. Ask about Grotta Azzurra and landing on the island too, as not every itinerary includes them.
An afternoon by the bay
From San Nicola to Praia. At Punta Fiuzzi in Praia a Mare, you can see Dino and Torre di Fiuzzi from the shore. After walking through San Nicola and visiting Arcomagno, rest by the water with the island in front of you.
After a longer boat trip. Stay in Praia when you return from the sea. If you still feel like walking, visit Santuario della Madonna della Grotta, reached by steps. You could also sit down for a meal and enjoy the view of the island from land.
A whole day in one bay. If you would rather not continue to Praia, stay around Marinella and San Nicola Arcella. There will be more time for the beach, the town’s lanes and an unhurried lunch.
Dinner and the return to Cedromare
In San Nicola Arcella, you can choose Degù restaurant or FA’ TU pizzeria. If you feel like returning here after Praia, dinner is a good reason. You could also stay for a meal in Praia and head home from there.
At the Cedromare holiday home, a terrace and a quieter evening await. The next day, head into the mountains for a change or stay by the local beach.
