Cedromare · Santa Maria del Cedro

Cedromare.
Your holiday home in Calabria

Your place by the Tyrrhenian Sea. At Cedromare in Santa Maria del Cedro, there is time for coffee on the terrace, a stroll through town and one more swim. Here, your Italian holiday moves at your pace.

A home for your holiday

Breakfast in your own kitchen, coffee on one of three terraces and a day that is only just beginning. The house has a small dining area, and all rooms are air-conditioned. After a day at the beach, the outdoor shower comes in handy. In the evening, the terrace calls you back for a chat with no need to watch the clock.

Cedromare is on Via degli Ulivi, in the seaside part of Santa Maria del Cedro, near Scalea. From here, you can set off in different directions along the Riviera dei Cedri and come home after each outing. That is how we want you to feel in our house throughout your stay.

Bicycles will also be available for guests. When you feel like a short ride, you will be able to see the neighbourhood from a different perspective.

For stays beyond the summer

Start with Santa Maria del Cedro

The wide beach and long Giorgio Perlasca promenade are all you need to get started. Walk beside the sea, stop wherever you like the view and, when you get hungry, try a pizzeria or a restaurant by the beach. You do not have to go far to feel on holiday.

Santa Maria del Cedro takes its name from the citron. The Museo del Cedro tells the story of this unusual citrus fruit, whose flavour you will find in local products. In summer, you can round off a seaside stroll with a concert. Check the programme for your dates; you might spend one of your evenings listening to music.

Where shall we go today?

Beaches and bays

There is the beach at Santa Maria del Cedro, Cirella island and the rocky shores of Isola di Dino. They look different from land and from the sea. If you are curious about the underwater world, local operators also offer diving and snorkelling.

Small towns and evening strolls

In Diamante, colourful murals lead you through the old centre. In Scalea, narrow streets climb the hillside. Slow down, look at the stone houses and stop for a coffee. These towns deserve more than a passing glance through a car window.

Towns with character

Nature

Beyond the seaside towns, another side of Calabria begins. Mountains surround Orsomarso, and the Argentino valley invites you into the greenery. Set aside a day for it, with time to walk and take a closer look at nature.

Nature and outdoor activities

For a few days or a longer stay

We have gathered ideas for your first three days and for a full week. They include seaside walks, small towns and outings inland. Choose what interests you and leave the rest for another visit. A free afternoon on your favourite beach is a good plan too.

Calabria is worth getting to know outside summer as well. Cedromare has gas heating, so you can plan a stay during the cooler months too. Our guide has ideas for every season.

Plan your journey all the way to Cedromare

Whether you are travelling from Italy, elsewhere in Europe or further away, reaching Cedromare is easier to organise one step at a time. Our guide takes you from choosing an airport or overland connection to the final journey to the house. It also helps if you are driving the whole way.

If you are flying, start by comparing flights to Lamezia Terme and Naples for your chosen dates. Then find a suitable train or coach and arrange your pick-up from the station or stop in advance. That gives you a plan for the whole journey, including the last stretch.

Sea and mountains in one stay

After a day on the beach, you may feel like a completely different view. In the Argentino valley, the river runs beneath wooded slopes, while mountain meadows and old pines await in the Pollino. Choose a shorter walk or devote a full day to one outing.
